A red carpet

Blake Lively is no stranger to the red carpet, and she often turns heads with her impeccable style choices. Although there are many iconic looks that she has served, her Met Gala appearances never cease to spark conversations.

In 2018, Blake made a stunning entrance in Versace, and was praised for her elegant look. Embellished in beading, the gold and crimson gown took over 600 hours to come to life, with a train so large in length she had to commute to the event in a party bus. The look was nothing short of show stopping and is to this day one of the most iconic designs seen at the Met Gala.

Fast forward to 2022, and Blake once again wowed spectators with her iconic Versace Atelier gown, inspired by New York City itself. She effortlessly made headlines with her elegance and individuality.

The dress code was ‘Gilded Glamour,’ and the actress was praised for keeping on theme immaculately. On arrival, the custom dress was copper with an oversized bow at the hip, inspired by the Empire state building. This later unravelled into a beautiful shade of green, imitating the oxidation process of New York City’s Statue of Liberty, accompanied by a seven-rayed crown, another reference to Lady Liberty.

The attention to detail didn’t stop there. Blake’s gown also paid homage to the Grand Central station décor, with the embroidery mimicking the same 12 zodiac constellations that are painted on the ceiling of Grand Central.

This detailed gown was praised for showing admiration for the city that never sleeps and Blake Lively once again proved herself to be a true fashion icon, effortlessly embodying the essence of the Met Gala's theme and looking beautiful whilst doing so.
